Sanchia Goonewardene qualified from Birmingham Medical School with Honours in Clinical Science and a BMedSc Degree in Medical Genetics and Molecular Medicine. She has served on the EAU Guidelines Panel on Chronic Pelvic Pain. She has been an MSc Thesis examiner for the University of Edinburgh/ Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh ESSQ course. She is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Robotic Surgery and is on the review board of BMJ case reports. Additionally, she is on the working group of The International Continence Society Terminology Panel on Pelvic Floor Dysfunction and Male LUTS and the Good Urodynamic Practice Panel. She has published 6 books and is Series Editor for Management of Urology, Springer Nature. Her first book published, an Edited volume has since ranked Number 3 in Book Authority's 100 Best Urology Books of all Time.

 

Dr. David M. Albala graduated with a geology degree from Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania. He completed his medical school training at Michigan State University and went on to complete his surgical residency at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Following this, Dr. Albala was an endourology fellow at Washington University Medical Center under the direction of Ralph V. Clayman. He practiced at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago and rose from the ranks of Instructor to full Professor in Urology and Radiology in eight years. After 10 years, he became a tenured Professor at Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina. At Duke, he was Co-Director of the Endourology fellowship and Director for the Center of Minimally Invasive and Robotic Urological Surgery. He has over 218 publications in peer-reviewed journals and has authored seven books in endourology and general urology. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Robotic Surgery. He serves on the editorial board for Medical Reviews in Urology, Current Opinions in Urology and Urology Index and Reviews. He serves as a reviewer for eight surgical journals.

 

Presently he is Chief of Urology at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, New York and a physician at Associated Medical Professionals (a group of 32 urologists). He is considered a national and international authority in laparoscopic and robotic urological surgery and has been an active teacher in this area for over 20 years. His research and clinical interests have focused on robotic urological surgery. In addition, other clinical interests include prostate cancer markers, minimally invasive treatment of benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) and the use of fibrin sealants in surgery. He has been a Visiting Professor at numerous institutions across the United States as well as overseas in countries such as India, China, Iceland, Germany, France, Japan, Brazil, Australia, and Singapore. In addition, he has done operative demonstrations in over 32 countries and 23 states. He has trained 16 fellows in endourology and advanced robotic surgery.

 

In addition, Dr. Albala is a past White House Fellow who acted as a special assistant to Federico Pena, Secretary of Transportation, on classified and unclassified public health related issues.

 

Mr Oliver Brunckhorst undertook his medical training at Imperial College London where he graduated with distinction and received the Imperial College Faculty of Medicine Prize. He undertook an intercalated BSc at King's College London in Anatomy, Developmental and Human Biology graduating with First Class Honors. He was then appointed as a surgical Academic Foundation Doctor at Imperial College London and North West Thames Deanery and subsequently as an NIHR Urology Acadamic Clinical Fellow at King's College London and South Thames Deanery. Currently, Oliver is currently undertaking a PhD at King's College London on Mental Wellbeing and Quality of Life in Prostate Cancer and Survivorship. His interest in academic urology and surgery include wellbeing in men's health including malignant and benign pathology, surgical education and non-technical skills in operating theatres. He has published widely on both clinical and non-clinical topics in high impact journals with his work presented at several national and international urological and surgical conferences and having won several best poster prizes.

 

Mr Ahmed is a Consultant Urological Surgeon / Andrologist (Hon) at King's College Hospital, King's Health Partners and a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) at King's College London. He completed his specialist urology training in London, and undertook specialised clinical fellowship training at University College London Hospital in andrology, men's reconstructive surgery, and infertility management. 

He holds a PhD degree in Surgical Education from Imperial College London, and he is also a NHS Clinical Entrepreneur. He has received a number of awards, and clinical and educational grants, from various organisations, including the European Association of Urology, the British Association of Urological Surgeons, the Royal College of Surgeons, the National Institute for Health Research, Coptcoat Charity, and Pelican Group. 

Mr Ahmed has published widely, with nearly 250 peer-reviewed publications and more than 300 national and international conference presentations. He is editor and author of four urological text books and has written a number of book chapters. He has served on the Editorial Board of BJUI and is currently an on the board of Frontiers Journals. He is the lead for Surgical Sciences iBSC modules at King's College London. He is education lead for EULIS section of European Association of Urology (EAU), board member of Junior ERUS-EAU and tutor on the European Urology Resident Education Programme (EUREP). Mr Ahmed has been invited as visiting professor or lecturer to institutions in the USA, Europe, and Middle East. Clinical Interests: He is a specialist in andrology (men's health, male sexual/erectile dysfunction, Peyronie's disease, low testosterone management), infertility management, and urethral reconstructive surgery. 

Mr Ahmed also has expertise in managing lower urinary tract disorders (caused by enlarged prostate or bladder dysfunction, or incontinence), recurrent urinary tract infections (cystitis, kidney infections), pelvic pain and chronic prostatitis, and other general benign and malignant urology conditions.
