The German Homoeopathic Pharmacopoeia (GHP) is one of the most important homoeopathic pharmacopoeias worldwide. Translated into the English language provides global access to professionals engaged in all aspects of the manufacture, registration, evaluation or dispensing of homoeopathic substances or raw materials.

The GHP comprises about 600 monographs and 300 general texts including reagents, vehicles and excipients, analytical methods and the very important 59 manufacturing methods. Homoeopathic and anthroposophical manufacturing methods are included as well as the methods used in spagyrics and the production of organ-derived preparations. The analytical methods have been harmonized with the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.) and the German Pharmacopoeia (DAB) but were adjusted to the special needs of homoeopathic medicines. Each monograph is uniformly structured in the same way as in the European Pharmacopoeia, starting with information on origin, description, characteristics, identification, tests on purity, assay, followed by information on the basic dosage forms and their manufacture and storage.

The GHP is compiled in close collaboration with the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medicinal Devices and is being published at the same time as the HAB.
